Hajj cost set at 19,400 dinars (Minister)

Minister of Religious Affairs Brahim Chaibi announced that the Hajj cost for the 2023/1444 Hegira season is set at 19,400 dinars.

Speaking at a press conference in Tunis on Tuesday, the minister said the Hajj cost could have been higher.

The total cost was initially set at more than 21,000 dinars, but efforts have been made by the President of the Republic to reduce it, he pointed out.

The number of candidates registered for Hajj has reached nearly 207,000. Some 10,982 candidates have been selected.

The quota of Tunisian pilgrims has returned to its usual level before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the minister

The Tunisian delegation that will accompany the Tunisian pilgrims is made up of 520 people.

The first flight of Tunisian pilgrims to the Holy Places will take place on June 9, 2023, and the first return flight on July 3, 2023. The last return flight is scheduled for July 17, 2023, he added.

Deputy Director General of the National Services and Residences Company Ghassen Alioui said pilgrims can pay the pilgrimage fees at post offices as of Wednesday.

Three hotels located near Mecca have been reserved for Tunisian pilgrims.
