Director-General of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Gilbert Houngbo, expressed his willingness to explore ways of cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs in this field during his visit to the International Centre for the Promotion of People with Disabilities on Thursday. He praised Tunisia's experience in caring for people with disabilities, according to a ministry press release. The ILO Director-General took note of the Centre's activities in relation to specialised training programmes for people with disabilities who are unable to integrate into mainstream education. He highlighted its role in conducting research, studies, documentation and training in the field of disability. During the visit, Houngbo toured the centre's facilities, observed training and rehabilitation workshops for its beneficiaries, and met Khadija Jallouli, a person with a physical disability and the initiator of a project to produce an electric car tailored for people with disabilities.
