Tunis: Joint National Guard and Coast Guard units are actively searching for 23 missing people from various Tunisian regions who had taken part in irregular migration attempts ten days ago off the coast of the town of Korba (Nabeul Governorate). These attempts were carried out on the evening of May 3 and 4, the National Guard said in a press release on Saturday. The families of the missing had informed the coast guard authorities in Béni Khiar, in the governorate of Nabeul, of the missing on May 14-15, according to the same source. As soon as they were informed, National coast guard units deployed all the necessary rescue resources to find the missing. The search is still underway. Security Guard units in Korba arrested 5 people involved in organising this irregular migration operation, including two women. Two search warrants were issued in this case, including one against the organiser of the operation. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
