The Independent High Authority for Elections set a calendar for the establishment of all elected councils with a view to activating them no later than April 5, said Spokesperson for the Independent High Authority for Elections (French: ISIE) Mohamed Tlili Mnasri. The timeline was outlined by the official as follows: - Wednesday, February 28: ISIE invites all local councils on February 28 and 29 to hold their plenary sessions. - Friday, March 1: holding of plenary sessions of all local councils. - Saturday, March 2: draw of members of regional councils (including an elected member for each local council). - Monday, March 4: the election commission tasks governors (in writing) with inviting regional councils to convene within eight days following the announcement of the composition of councils. - Dates to file challenges against the results of draws conducted to determine the composition of regional councils and districts will be announced subsequently. - Local and regional councils and districts shall c ome into operation on April 5 at the latest.
