The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in Oshikoto have reported the death of a 12-year-old boy who allegedly got hit by a Toyota Quantum bus and was again run over by a Scania truck. According to Regional Commander Theopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku, the incident happened on Friday around 15h10 at Oniingo village on the Ondangwa-Omuthiya road, around 54 kilometres to Omuthiya. The deceased was identified as Johannes Jeroboam, a Grade 5 learner at Oshikanyandi Combined School and resident of Onambeke B village. 'It is alleged that the driver of a white Toyota Quantum was driving from Ondangwa's side heading to Omuthiya when he bumped a pedestrian, a school kid who was crossing the road, and he was again run over by a white Scania truck which was heading to Ondangwa,' Kalompo-Nashikaku said. The boy sustained multiple injuries and died on the spot. The Quantum was driven by a 32-year-old man and the truck by a 61-year-old man, both Namibian and both licensed. The body was transported to the Onandjokwe hospital mor tuary for a post-mortem and the next of kin are informed. Investigations into the matter continue. Source: The Namibia Press Agency
