A 39 - year - old man allegedly drowned while trying to cross the Kavango River into Angola on Friday . According to a Namibian Police Force ( NamPol ) crime report issued on Sunday , the incident occurred around 16h44 near Kakoro village . The police identified the deceased as Ndumba Aushona , a resident of Silikunga village . ' The deceased allegedly drowned while trying to swim across the river to Angola ,' said the statement . It further said Aushona had been with his wife and a child , who had gone to look for a canoe in order to cross the river . Source: The Namibia Press Agency
