Ministry of Economy, UTICA Chief argue for increasing consultations to boost private investments and PPP

Minister of Economy and Planning Samir Saied and President of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) Samir Majoul discussed ways to save SMEs which have classified claims with commercial banks. They stressed the need to provide them with all necessary support to help them overcome the crisis they are facing.

During a working session held on Friday, both parties agreed to conduct more consultations so as to boost private investments and consolidate public-private partnership, the Ministry of Economy said on Saturday.

The two officials also agreed to hold sectoral meetings in the upcoming period so as to identify the specificities of each sector as part of the orientations decided by at the end of the dialogue between the public and private sectors as well as the 185 measures which had been adopted and are currently being implemented..

The Minister of the Economy and the president of the employers’ organisation pointed out that these sectoral meetings will help highlight the challenges faced by the sectors concerned and ways to find solutions to them, through operational proposals.

The working session also discussed mechanisms likely to create wealth, boost development and consolidate the role of the private sector in this field.
