The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshikoto Region have opened a rape case against an 18-year-old boy after he reportedly raped a six-year-old girl. According to the region's crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo, the alleged rape incident occurred around 21h00 on Wednesday at Otatashe village in the Eengodi Constituency. The girl and the alleged suspect live in the same house at Otatashe village. 'It is alleged that the minor victim was playing hide and seek with other children when her maternal uncle called her into her aunt's room and had sexual intercourse with her,' reported Ekandjo. He added that the girl's older sister found them in the room and questioned the girl, who disclosed what had transpired. The sister thereafter informed their guardian, who then reported the matter to the police. The suspect was arrested and will appear in the Tsumeb Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, pending investigations. Source : The Namibia News Agency
