A Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) van that was transporting inmates overturned at Omutsegwondjamba village in the Omuthiya constituency on Saturday. The Namibian Police Force's Oshikoto crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo, told Nampa the accident occurred around 15h30 on Saturday at Omutsegwondjamba, some 14 kilometres outside Omuthiya on the B1 road. 'It is alleged that the NCS van at the time of the accident was traveling from Omuthiya towards Oshivelo at Omutsegwondjamba village, going to the Evalistus Correctional Facility in Tsumeb from Oluno Prison,' Ekandjo. He added that the driver was trying to overtake the vehicle in front of him when he lost control of the vehicle and overturned. The inmates sustained minor injuries while the driver survived the accident without any injuries. No arrests were made and police investigations continue. Source : The Namibia News Agency
