Windhoek: The One Economy Foundation has denied allegations that its BeFree Movement promotes sexual immorality and distributes inappropriate sexual content amongst children . This was noted in a press statement issued by One Economy Foundation National Coordinator , Frieda Stefanus , on Tuesday following claims made by ' Stop Homosexuality in Namibia ' Chairperson Pendapala Nakathingo . The organisation has in a petition to the Ministry of Education demanded the suspension or withdrawal of all BeFree / Dreams subjects as they allege that the movements ' indoctrinate ' children through new curriculums that teach sexual immorality . Stefanus said the BeFree Movement provides a secure environment for young people and their parents to access professional services , guidance on social issues , and innovative learning opportunities . ' The success of the BeFree Movement is a testament to collaborative efforts . We have transformed the lives of thousands of young Namibians , addressing their social , mental health , financial , and academic challenges while enabling them to fulfil their potential ,' she stated . Stefanus further emphasised that the allegations are ' maliciously made to damage their reputation and delegitimise their advocacy in the eyes of the public and those they serve .' ' This is not the first time falsehoods about BeFree have been spread on platforms controlled by Mr Nakathingo . We reiterate that there is no truth in the malicious suggestions and statements that Mr Nakathingo is spreading ,' noted the statement . She explained that the ' sexual immorality ' claims are false and arise from their programmes addressing adolescent violence , HIV , STIs , and unintended pregnancy . Source: The Namibia News Agency
