Oshakati: The Oshakati Town Council has urged residents to be alert against fraudsters who are contacting residents and claiming to be representatives of the council . In a statement issued on Wednesday , town council spokesperson Katarina Kamari said the fraudsters attempt to solicit funds in exchange for purported bid awards or plot allocations . Kamari said residents should note that council does not ask for any form of payment or funds over the phone . ' If you receive any suspicious calls or messages claiming to be from the council , do not engage ,' she said . Kamari said such incidents should be reported to the Oshakati Town Council or nearest police station immediately .
