The operational plan for implementing the self-employment regime was adopted on Wednesday at a ministerial working session chaired by Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani and attended by the Ministers of Finance, of Economy and Planning, of Communication Technologies and of Employment and Vocational Training. In adopting this plan, all the recommendations of the ministerial meeting of July 4, 2023 were taken into account, according to a Prime Ministry press release on Thursday. The self-employment regime aims to support the government's efforts to consolidate the social role of the State and to integrate the informal sector into the economic cycle. According to the Prime Minister's decree-law no. 2020-33 of June 10, 2020, a self-employed is any natural person of Tunisian nationality working individually in industry, agriculture, trade, services, crafts or trades, provided that their annual turnover does not exceed TND 75,000.
