The Western Cape division of the High Court granted preservation order on 22 August 2024 and it was received by the Hawks on 26 August 2024. This results from a pleasant collaboration between the Hawks' Asset Forfeiture Investigation and the National Prosecuting Authority' Asset Forfeiture Unit. On 12 November 2023 the Hawks' South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau(SANEB) team based in Bellville received information about a Toyota Dyna that was en route to Cape Town. The vehicle was spotted and searched after it was pulled over in Strand, Cape Town. A total of 66 407 mandrax tablets to the value of approximately R2 656 280 were found in a hidden compartment. The Toyota Dyna valued at R66 100.00 which was utilized as an instrumentality to commit an offence was seized and a preservation order was granted. Source: South African Police Service
