Tunis: The Forum of Democratic Forces said Tuesday it will lodge an appeal to the Administrive Court against the regulatory decision of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) on the criteria and eligibility conditions for the presidential election, regarding "substantial irregularities in this text." The Forum considers in a statement that the presidential decree convening the voters to cast their ballots was issued in a context of 'political closure,' where the conditions of eligibility were 'tailor-made.' ISIE had published on July 15, 2024, a regulatory text setting out the candidacy conditions and procedures for the October 6 presidential election. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
