Tunis: The National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) called for revealing the truth about the health state of journalist Mohamed Boughaleb, demanding his "immediate" release. Boughaleb was due to appear before a judge on Wednesday in a case brought against him by a Religious Affairs Ministry official, but the hearing was postponed for health reasons, the SNJT specifies in a press release on Wednesday. Boughaleb was unable on Tuesday to appear before the investigating judge regarding a new complaint lodged against him under Decree-Law 54, as he was taken to hospital, the SNJT points out. The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Tunis Court of First Instance had issued a detention warrant against Boughaleb and decides to defer him before the Criminal Court under Article 128 of the Criminal Code and Article 87 of the Telecommunications Code.
