Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani stressed on Sunday Tunisia’s full readiness to offer assistance in the field of vaccine production in a participatory approach with all African Union member states.
“Tunisia is fully prepared to share its experience in vaccine production in order to contribute efficiently and effectively to saving human lives, particularly on the African continent,” he said in his speech during an event on sustainable vaccine production through research projects and global vaccine development in Africa.
The event is being held on the sidelines of the 37th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly held from February 16 to 18 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Prime Minister highlighted Tunisia’s experience in vaccine production and the development of its pharmaceutical sector for decades, making it a leading hub in Africa.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the keynote address at the annual official opening of the National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders (NHTKL) in the National Council of Provinces chamber in Cape Town.
The event will take place in accordance with Section 33 (1) (b) of the Traditional and Khoi-San Leadership Act, 2019 (Act 3 of 2019), and will mark the official opening of the National House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders.
Distinguished guests are expected to attend the event on Thursday, 22 February 2024. They include Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Premiers, and MECs responsible for Traditional Affairs, Kings and EXCO Members of Provincial Houses of Traditional Leaders.
Additional guests include the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (CONTRALESA), Royal Leaders of South Africa (Rolesa), Business Sector, Religious Sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and Representatives from Southern African Development Community (SADC) Countries, the National Khoi-San Council,
as well as Chapter 9 Institutions
