Tunis: Speaker of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP), Brahim Bouderbala, met Abbas Zaki, a member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Fatah Party, at the Bardo Palace on Monday. Quoted in a parliamentary press release, the Palestinian official praised Tunisia's stance in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause. In this context, he stressed the need to continue pro-Palestinian actions, especially within the framework of an international parliamentary organisation. He called for continued condemnation of the injustices suffered by the Palestinians and the policy of double standards. Abbas Zaki also stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian cause within the United Nations and through demonstrations organised around the world, including sit-ins in various universities. For his part, the Speaker of the Parliament called for redoubling efforts at the bilateral and multi-party levels to block the Zionist entity's plans and defend the interests of Arab countries. B ouderbala affirmed that Tunisia is closely following the developments of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and expressed its desire to have an active presence in the various international and regional bodies in order to mobilise support for the just Palestinian cause. The meeting took place in the presence of Palestinian Ambassador to Tunisia, Hayel Al Fahoum, according to the parliamentary press release. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
