Tunisian world champion Ayoub Hafnaoui failed to qualify for the World Aquatics Championships Doha 2024 1500m freestyle final. The defending champion finished 7th in his heat in 15:09.02, and 17th overall, failing to finish among the finalists in the event in which he holds the world title. This was Hafnaoui's 3rd disappointment at these championships, after missing the 800 m NL final by finishing 8th in his heat and 18th overall (7:51.72) and the 400 m NL final by finishing 8th in his heat and 17th overall (3:48.5).
